What is The Ontario Land Tribunal (OLT )

 

The OLT is an independent provincial tribunal that:

• Hears land–use planning disputes

• Reviews development applications and appeals

• Can approve, modify or refuse development applications

 

 

Why It Matters

The OLT process can significantly influence the final outcome of the Richview Plaza redevelopment.

 

What Is “Party Status” & Why It Matters for Residents

Party status gives the community a meaningful voice in the OLT process.

WITH Party Status, the RGGRA may:

• Present evidence

• Call expert witnesses

• Question evidence presented by others

• Participate in negotiations and settlement negotiations 

• Represent community interest directly

WITHOUT Party Status:

• The community has zero to limited involvement

• Residents may only observe the proceedings; cannot speak or ask questions

​

Will be confirmed at OLT Case Management meeting on June 1st.
